Technical Artist (Permanent, Full-Time)

Summary

The technical artist collaborates with the different members of the team in order to establish and support an efficient 3d pipeline that would help raise the visual quality of the game and optimize it’s performances.

What you will do:

• Maintain a good communication between the creative and technical teams;

• Identify and implement best practices and tools in order to improve visuals and/or performances;

• Help streamline the production by proposing ways to automate tasks and improve processes;

• Make sure the team has the technical knowledge needed to accomplish the artistic vision of the project;

• Seek to constantly push the limits of technology;

• Act as a problem solver when it comes to technical optimization and the achievement of the best visual quality possible within the limits of the available technology;

• Create art assets such as models, materials, textures, VFX;

• Participate in the lighting process of the levels

Requirements:

• Experience in the video game industry;

• Strong communication skills;

• Strong knowledge of commercial 3D softwares (Maya, 3ds Max, Substance,etc.);

• Technical Knowledge in real time 3D graphics and digital content creation pipeline;

• Realtime and pre-calculated lighting knowledge;

• Good materials and shaders scripting knowledge;

• Good knowledge of the rendering pipeline and the ability to evaluate its impact on performance.

• Knowledge in scripting and programming is an asset (Python, Mel, C#);

• Experience in Unity;
