Gameplay Programmer (Permanent, Full-Time)
Date: March 2023
Summary
As a Gameplay Programmer, you will help the team bring to life new game features of our first game, an innovative FPS-Roguelike set in a stylish and colourful sci-fi world! You will also have constant opportunities to help elevate, problem-solve, and steer your ideas as they develop.
Duties:

Work in collaboration with the technical director and programming team, and help guide the junior members of the studio;

Architect and coordinate the implementation of new Gameplay systems and features and polish various developed features while documenting;

Participate in the debugging of the title for playtest and release;
-
Work closely with design and art teams to realize creative ambitions;

Work within Unity adapting existing systems and building new technology in order to fulfill the project’s technical needs and creative goals;

Develop other tools to help the content creation team work more efficiently;

Support planning efforts by estimating and dependency-checking gameplay feature development;
-
Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and suggest solutions to overcome them;

Optimize game code for better CPU performance and memory usage;

Research coding techniques and algorithms in order to stay updated on technical developments and advancements in the game industry.
Requirements:
-
Passion for video games;
-
Demonstrated expertise with the C# programming language;
-
3+ years of programming experience on game titles;
-
Experience with the Unity Game Engine;
-
Knowledge of Git and its workflows;
-
Strong 3D Math skills;
-
Ability to work autonomously and efficiently under deadlines;
-
Commitment to code quality, documentation and sound testing procedures;
-
Ability to learn and master new technologies and code;
-
Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or related training);
-
Fluent in both English and French.
Extra points if:

You have previous experience in developing first/third-person shooter games or you are an avid gamer who loves this genre;

You’re eager to take strong ownership of ideas and drive them through prototyping to completion.
